About Linden Woods Community Centre

Linden Woods Community Centre (LWCC) offers a wide variety of year-round sports, programs, classes, and rental options.

With two outdoor rinks, a playground, two tennis courts, two basketball court, four pickleball courts, a full soccer field, two half soccer fields, six mini soccer fields, a splash pad, a commercial kitchen, a multi-purpose room, a meeting room and a full gymnasium available, the variety of programming and events that are offered are endless.

Through the years, LWCC has been, and continues to be, an integral part of the Linden Woods community, hosting summer camps, tournaments, carnivals, and much more.

LWCC is one of approximately 70 community centres in the City of Winnipeg. LWCC works collaboratively with other community centres for sports registrations and other activities, including Riverview, Whyte Ridge, Fort Garry, Corydon, and South Winnipeg.

Our Community

Linden Woods is a 900 acre (3.6 square kilometre) residential community in the southwest quadrant of the City of Winnipeg. The community is bordered by Sterling Lyon Parkway to the north, Waverley Street to the east, McGillivray Boulevard to the south and Kenaston Boulevard to the west. Developed by Genstar Development Company, sod turned in 1980 and construction on the community's first houses began in 1981. The community is currently home to over 10,000 residents.

Linden Woods offers 39 acres of lakes within 63 acres of parks (Muys, Kleysen and Van Walleghem), which feature fountains, lookouts, pedestrian bridges and three kilometres of paved trails.

There are three schools located in Linden Woods:

  • Ecole Van Walleghem School, a K-8 French immersion and English school
  • Linden Meadows School, an K-8 English school
  • Linden Christian School, a K-12 Christian school

Linden Woods is less than half an hour drive from downtown Winnipeg, the University of Manitoba, the University of Winnipeg, Red River Community College, the Pan Am Pool, the Winnipeg Airport, and many major shopping facilities. Two main bus routes service the community.
