Men’s Shed Facilitator(s) Needed
Men’s Shed is a group of men who get together in their community to develop new skills, discover new interests, and make new friends. But it’s so much more than that. For many men, aging and retirement can lead to loneliness and a loss of purpose; and that’s where Men’s Sheds come in. Symbolic of that backyard workshop where men share stories and tinker with woodworking or electronics, a Men’s Shed is grounded in the idea that men communicate more effectively when they’re “shoulder to shoulder” with other men.
See Men’s Shed website for more details: Men’s Sheds Canada – Connection. Camaraderie. Community.
Linden Woods Community Centre is hoping to start it’s very own Men’s Shed on Thursday afternoons (1pm to 3pm). However, to make it successful we are looking for 2-3 gentlemen in the community that are interested in being the facilitator for the group. If this is something that interested you, please reach out at manager@lindenwoodscc.com to discuss further.

A huge congratulations to Bill and Karen Burrington, our Linden Lights Best House winners for the second year in a row! 🏆
Their dedication to Linden Lights is truly next level. Each year, Bill and Karen spend countless hours transforming their home with hundreds of thousands of lights, all for the joy of bringing people together. This year, they even tracked the impact using a special car counter, they recorded over 17,000 cars passing by their beautifully lit home!
What makes Linden Lights so special is exactly this: neighbours out walking together, families driving through with hot chocolate, kids in awe, and a community connected by a shared tradition. It’s a reminder of how something as simple as lights can create moments of joy and togetherness during the holiday season.
One of our favourite parts of Linden Lights is how we choose the winners. Each year, we invite non-neighbourhood kids to be our judges, searching for Best House and Best Street, seeing neighbourhood lights through fresh, excited eyes makes it even more meaningful.
Looking ahead to next year, we’re excited to introduce even more Linden Lights awards, such as:
✨ Most Creative Display
✨ Best Use of Music
✨ Kid Favourite
✨ Griswold Award (most over-the-top!)
✨ Best Themed House
✨ Best use of Blow ups!
Thank you to Bill and Karen, and to every neighbour who takes part in making Linden Lights such a cherished community tradition. We can’t wait to see what next year brings! ✨🎄
